Sulphur Bank Mercury Mine Superfund Site Webinar Series

The following is series of three webinars depicting the Elem Tribe’s involvement in Sulphur Bank Mercury Mine Superfund Site. This work was produced by our contractor, AESE, Inc. who has been involved on our behalf since 2002 and was produced to bring the public and others up to speed on what has been transpiring at the site. The webinars are streamed from Youtube (you may need to restart each video from the beginning). A Brief description of each webinar precedes each link. The webinars are best viewed in sequence. This website site is currently under construction. The Tribe will be posting pertinent historical information pertaining to the Site as well as Clear Lake in General.

1. This is the first in the series of webinars describes AESE’s involvement with more than 10 other Tribes throughout the U.S. on Superfund Cleanups, Tribal water quality Standards, etc. This webinar is to give the audience a feeling of who AESE is and who they represent.

2. This is the second in the series, and is directed at technical issues surrounding Sulphur Bank Mercury Mine Superfund Site, Including Alternative 8, which was developed by the Tribe. This webinar presents Alternative 8 to the public and compares contrasts this alternative with those developed predominantly by the State of California. On May 17, 2019 EPA mentioned during a conference call with the Tribe’s project manager that Alternative 8 had been screened-out. The Tribe feels this was done in an attempt to head off the Tribe presenting the alternative to the Public. An addendum was required (2 add, below)
